Darren Schneider begins his sixth year with the Deer, his fourth as Varsity Assistant. Darren graduated in 1983 from Fredericksburg High School. Coach Schneider played baseball and football at Texas Lutheran University before graduating from Angelo State University in 1989. Before coaching at Deer Park, Coach Schneider was Head Baseball Coach at Lake Travis High School in Austin where he took his team to the Regional Semifinals in 1997 and the Area Finals in 1999.
Coach Schneider and his wife, Heather, have two beautiful daughters, Anna, and Jillian, ages 4 and 2. In addition to Varsity Assistant duties, CoachSchneider also teaches Health at the Freshman Campus.
Coach Ruben Garcia enters his fourth year as a baseball coach in Deer Park. Previously he coached in Houston and Galveston ISD. Coach Garcia is a native of McAllen, Texas. He was an all-district player in high school. He played his college ball at Pan American University, making an appearance in the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska in 1971. Coach Garcia and his lovely wife, Maria, have been married for 34 years. They have two children: Ruben 31 and Erica 32. They have three grandchildren: Erik 21/2, Oscar 11, and Gracey 15.
